11 grams for average new Steinway bass hammer minus roughly 1gram lost in boring, tapering and arcing; so 10 grams minus 8.67= 1.33 heavier than originals. Multiply by 5 on the keyboard(touch).
8.67 grams for average old original Steinway bass hammer(with shank will compensate close to 1.2 gram(wood+felt) removal as we will see later).
Reducing the touch weight by moving the knuckle towards the hammer.
