Steinway « O » New York 1910 (to be restored)
The pin block is glued and clamped in the piano.
Great effort made by this factory, so minimum constraint is applied to the soundboard.
Three great features; offset bass bridge(left), ventilated tenor bridge(spatulas)and 13 vertical laminations within bridge(arrow).
After being repaired and sanded, the plate is ready to receive it's finish.
This plate will be holding 18 tons of string tension for a good while, it deserves a nice finish!
Drilling the plate to install wounded strings in improved tenor section.
Improved tenor section; higher tension, less inharmonicity and more stable tuning.
